A Las Vegas man accused of robbing a White City Purple Parrot in December was lodged Sunday in the Jackson County Jail after being arrested in Las Vegas, but his accomplice remains unknown, and authorities are still seeking help from the public to locate her.

Francisco Javier Diaz-Ramirez, 44, was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery after allegedly pointing a gun at the cashier and stealing an undisclosed amount of money and products Dec. 5 at the video poker establishment in White City. Diaz-Ramirez and his female counterpart allegedly left the scene, and deputies were not able to immediately locate them.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday it was able to track down Diaz-Ramirez in collaboration with authorities from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team in Klamath Falls.

A sheriff department’s news advisory did not say how the two agencies traced Diaz-Ramirez, but on Jan. 19 — more than a month after he was seen — detectives presented evidence to a Jackson County grand jury, and an extraditable arrest warrant was issued.

Las Vegas police arrested Diaz-Ramirez Feb. 2 and said they uncovered the firearm authorities believe was used in the Purple Parrot robbery. On Feb. 12, Jackson County Jail transport deputies flew to Las Vegas and escorted the suspect back to Oregon. The following day, Diaz-Ramirez met with authorities and confessed to the crime, the news release stated.

The sheriff’s office said that Diaz-Ramirez attempted to sell old, rare coins in Southern Oregon, and it asked that anyone who may have purchased coins from him to call the JCSO tip line at 541-774-8333 and reference case 22-7060.

His alleged accomplice from the White City robbery was described as a Hispanic female in her 20s with brown/red curly hair. During the robbery, she wore a skull mask and a black zip-up sweatshirt. Anyone with information should call the tip line.
