Shakey Graves returns to the Britt main stage this year.

Britt Music & Arts Festival announced Friday morning the first installment of Britt Presents music and comedy concerts for the 2023 summer season.

The first of two season announcements, this group of shows features a wide array of musical artists, including first-time-to-Britt country artists Kelsea Ballerini and Elle King, plus returning artists Diana Ross, Shakey Graves, Old Crow Medicine Show, CAKE, annual fan favorite Michael Franti & Spearhead, and others.

“Program diversity is Britt’s greatest strength. We have world class performers of so many genres,” Abby McKee, Britt Music & Arts Festival president and CEO, said in an email interview. “A lot of music festivals represent one kind of music, but at Britt you can really sample the best of so many flavors of music. It’s incredible to see absolute legends like Diana Ross in the same lineup as buzzy indie-rock band The Head and the Heart, or Britt newcomer Elle King.”

On the morning of April 6, Britt will announce several more acts to fill out the full season and will save a special one-act announcement for its annual Season Announcement party that evening.

McKee said she is excited about this year’s program despite challenges faced while putting the lineup together.

“Artist fees have increased dramatically over the last few years. As a community-based nonprofit, we always feel the tension point between keeping our ticket prices accessible to all while drawing top notch acts to southern Oregon,” she said.
