- A fundraiser for the Grotto will be held March 11 at The Pump House in Talent.
On Jan. 22, the Grotto pizzeria in Talent was shut down after a plumbing break flooded the restaurant in the early morning hours, closing the business for well over a month.

To help the Grotto recover, The Pump House Burgers and Brews has coordinated with the Talent Business Alliance to organize a fundraising event.
On Saturday, March 11, from 3 to 9 p.m. The Pump House, 102 E. Main St., in Talent, will throw a bash to benefit the Grotto. The event is designed to sustain the Grotto staff in ways that insurance will not cover, as well as help with repairs.
“This is an opportunity to step up and support one our own,” said Jeven Showers of the Pump House.

The benefit, “Pints for Pizza,” will feature live music by the Fret Drifters from 3 to 5 p.m. and the Adam Gabriel band from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. sponsored by the Talent Business Alliance. Beer has been donated by Talent’s Art Bop Brew Co. and Walkabout Brewing. All sales proceeds that day will go to the benefit, according to a news released from the Talent Business Alliance.
There will be other ways to contribute, as well. A raffle is being coordinated by former Grotto employee Cheryl Lashley. Businesses have provided 13 prize baskets containing local art, wine, gift cards and more.
Raffle tickets can be purchased by calling Lashley at 541-826-8494 or by visiting the Talent Club.
