There is no telling how long this deal will last.
Ever since Apple jumped from Intel to its in-house made processors, the Mac has been supercharged in a pretty extreme way. From the entry-level M1 MacBook Air to the top-of-the-line, flagship 16-inch MacBook Pro, they aim to have an option for everyone.
Whether you don’t need a massive screen that can go anywhere or want something a little more portable, the 14-inch MacBook Pro hits a sweet spot. It boasts the same redesign that is a heftier build with plenty of ports, a vibrant display, and the latest processing power for Pros.
Best of all, though, you can get the 2023 14-inch MacBook Pro for the lowest price ever. Amazon (AMZN) – Get Free Report is discounting the entry-level 14-inch with an M2 Pro chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of solid-state-storage for $199 off at just $1,799. In our review back in Jan. of 2023, we called the 14-inch MacBook Pro “Extreme performance in a great build.” The 14-inch MacBook Pro isn’t a necessity for someone who has the previous version with an M1 Pro or Max chip, but if you’ve been using a non-Apple Silicon Mac, maybe an older large-screened MacBook Pro, or are just craving more power from a MacBook Air, the 14-inch is well worth the investment.
The M2 Pro here is designed and built by Apple with creatives in mind as it cuts down export or render times for 3D animations, batch photo or video edits, and even complex animation-heavy tasks. It also provides enough power to open dozens of applications simultaneously, including Chrome or Safari (or both), with dozens of tabs open. You’ll be hard-pressed to make the 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 Pro chip slow down for any task.
It doesn’t stutter or freeze for complex processes, which extends to keeping cool under pressure. The MacBook Pro doesn’t get hot, and you’ll find the adage of a noisy fan kicking in to be a rare occurrence that no longer sounds like a leaf blower. It’s ideal for folks doing a lot of photos or video editing and who need a situation on the go.
From the portability perspective, the 14-inch is very comfortable to use while commuting on a train or a plane, along with a stationary use case like at a desk at the office or at home. The 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display is a real treat with a Mini LED panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. This way, visuals look buttery smooth, and colors pop with high accuracy levels.
Regardless of your feelings about dongles, you’ll be pleased to know that Apple is packed in the ports here. Not only is MagSafe back for charging, but it’s paired with an audio jack, three USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. For many, that will eliminate the need to carry extra dongles.
The chef’s kiss aspect of the 14-inch MacBook Pro is battery life. In our testing, we got over a day and a half of use with standby–aka eye rest for this gadget lover–overnight. You can quickly get through a day on this, and it can last on sleep for several. When it comes time to recharge, use the 96-watt brick that comes in the box, and you can get 50% from 0% in 30 minutes flat.
There is really no telling how long this savings will last, but if you’ve been eyeing a 14-inch MacBook Pro or have been waiting to make the jump to an Apple (AAPL) – Get Free Report silicon laptop, this is certainly a great time. You can get the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD at Amazon for $1,799 here.
