Denise Krause is running for Position 1 on the Rogue Valley Transportation District board of directors. Read about her on page 51 of your Voters’ Pamphlet.

She’s got two opponents, both covering their bases by running for multiple board positions. What’s with that!

Denise knows what she’s committed to and that is ensuring the citizens of Jackson County have the transportation they need; to get to work even on weekends, get to school, get to medical appointments, get to social activities, get wherever they want to go on climate-friendly public transportation.

Voting in these Special District Elections is crucial to keeping our county in the hands of trusted individuals who have our best interest at the core of their motivation for running for public office.

Yes on Ashland parks measure

The folks running the “No” campaign against restructuring the Food and Beverage tax in Ashland suggest that Ashland voters are easily fooled.

Loud and clear, they offer up an Orwellian and cynical campaign that is an affront to every Ashland voter. Registering their PAC, they cleverly adopted the title, “Save Our Parks.” However, they unambiguously state their goal, “Opposition to increased funding for Ashland Parks and Recreation Department.”

Next in their crafty campaign they designed a gaudy, red sign with the slogan, “Save Our Parks. Vote No on 15-214.” Clever if you are running a Monty Python village parody. Insulting, if you hope to convince discerning Ashland voters.

The “No” campaign has attempted to confuse and disrespect voters and, in doing so, tear down community support for our 131-year-old park system that is one of the hallmarks of our town.

We are not hayseeds. Show up. Vote YES on 15-214.
