No on Ashland parks measure
Vote No on 15-214. Please do not extend the Food and Beverage Tax to 2040. This could be evaluated again in 2030.
Please do not give the Ashland Parks & Recreation Department 98% of this Food and Beverage Tax. The APRD budget is $16,604,660, along with 25% of the Food and Beverage Tax, and a portion of our property taxes.
APRD manage our 820 acres, and 41 parks and open spaces wisely. Maintain and repair what we have.
We love our parks. Vote NO on measure 15-214 and Save Our Parks.

Atkinson for Medford schools
Michelle Atkinson will be an excellent member of the Medford School District Board of Directors.
I was a member of the MSD 549C Board for 8 years. I found the greatest board members put the best interests of the students, the staff and the taxpayers first. Now sometimes, the best interests of those groups are different.
A great board member puts effort into finding the best solutions that are best for the district overall. It isn’t always easy. But a person with a good mind and a good heart like Michelle Atkinson will work together with everyone.
Please join me in voting for Michelle Atkinson Medford School Board Position #5.
Mike Moran / Medford
No on Ashland parks measure
The yearly budget for Ashland Parks & Recreation is over $10 million. If passed, measure 15-214 would increase the AP&R share of Meals Tax revenue from 25% to 98% which, at present, would be another $2 million.
There are times when Meals Tax revenues are needed by a city department other than Parks. Why dedicate this precious financial resource to Parks in a future riddled with uncertainties for all city departments?
Parks would do best to concentrate on doing a more responsible job with its present duties, rather than add more. There are many areas, like the Lithia Park duck ponds, that could use some concentrated effort.
Passing 15-214 will also push the Meals Tax expiration date to 2040! We should allow the ‘Meals Tax’ to end in 2030 as initially promised to the voters and our food service businesses in 1995.
Vote “NO” on 15-214.

Krause for RVTD board
Denise Krause is the most highly qualified candidate for the board of Rogue Valley Transportation District.
I strongly recommend and support Denise to be a great and positive addition to our RVTD Board of Directors. She has great intellect and integrity, plus a motivation for selfless public service.
Denise understands and is exactly suited to help continue the excellent multiple award-winning, safe and fiscally sound management of your public transportation services. Please elect Denise Krause to the RVTD board.
