Craterian Performances has announced its 26th anniversary season with a lineup that includes 22 touring shows, multiple productions by Teen Musical Theater of Oregon, and the beloved annual holiday community event — the GingerBread Jubilee.

The community-supported nonprofit organization that owns and operates the 732-seat Craterian Theater at The Collier Center for the Performing Arts in Medford offers a diverse annual season of music, comedy, musical theater, dance, drama and spectacle shows.

Touring shows during the upcoming season include Brian Regan, Vienna Boys Choir, Straight No Chaser and The Peking Acrobats.

“Our newest season reflects our desire to present a diverse collection of wonderful evenings at the theater featuring voices from around the world,” says Stephen McCandless, executive director of Craterian Performances. “Now, in addition to that, we also have Teen Musical Theater of Oregon, our in-house producing program that taps an amazing pool of talented and enthusiastic local kids to create high-quality musical theater performances. These shows employ, entertain and educate Southern Oregonians, which is right at the core of our mission. Generous community support makes it possible for us to continue to evolve in what we do and how we do it.”

TMTO, Craterian Performances’ youth theater program, features talented local youth in professionally staged, large scale musical theater productions. This season’s lineup begins this summer with Disney’s “Finding Nemo JR.” on stage July 14-16, and the high-energy musical “Footloose,” July 29-30 and Aug. 4. Then, get on board with Meredith Willson’s musical “The Music Man,” Dec. 9-10, and 15-17. TMTO’s spring production of “Bye Bye Birdie,” comes to life March 2-3, and 8-10.

The 21st annual Gingerbread Jubilee includes a gingerbread design-and-create competition, benefit auction and community tour. All proceeds from Gingerbread Jubilee events help Craterian Performances present arts and culture programs, produce Teen Musical Theater of Oregon, and Next Stage Repertory Company, and provide a state-of-the-art venue and gathering place for the community. The James Collier GingerBread Jubilee Gala Dinner and Auction will be held Nov. 17, followed by the community tour Nov. 18-20.

The Storytelling Guild will partner with Craterian Performances to bring two free performances to children of the community (title and date TBD).

In addition to booking performing artists from around the world for its own season, Craterian Performances makes the theater available as a rental venue for various nonprofit and commercial uses. The Rogue Valley Chorale, Rogue Valley Symphony and Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon have event listings in the 2023-24 Craterian season brochure as “Art Partners.”

Those interested in purchasing tickets for the 2023-24 season are encouraged to submit ticket order forms as soon as possible. Public sales open Monday, June 26, but Craterian Performances is a nonprofit organization and contributing members receive, among other benefits, presale privileges in advance of sales to the general public. Annual memberships begin with a $50 tax-deductible contribution which supports the theater’s programming and operations.
