President Joe Biden is undergoing a root canal at the White House after experiencing tooth pain, his physician said Monday.
Biden on Sunday reported discomfort in his lower right premolar, presidential physician Kevin O’Connor wrote in a letter. Later in the day, dentists from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center performed the initial procedure.
They are completing the root canal Monday after Biden, 80, experienced “further discomfort this morning, which was anticipated,” O’Connor said. “The president tolerated the procedure well. There were no complications.”
Biden was scheduled to host an event for college athletes at the White House Monday morning, but Vice President Kamala Harris will appear in his place.
