- Police released a photo of a "vehicle of interest" — a 2013 to 2018 Ford Fusion with dark-colored rims and a sunroof.
The Medford Police Department has provided new information about a June 10 shooting at Cedar Links Park and is asking the public to help find a vehicle and potential suspects.
The department released a photo Thursday of a “vehicle of interest” — a 2013 to 2018 Ford Fusion with dark-colored rims and a sunroof. However, police say its “involvement is unknown” at this stage of the investigation, according to a press release.
The release also stated, “Though the vehicle in the attached image appears to be white, we caution public assumption of exact color of digital images, especially at night as they can be misleading.”
The release of the image comes after police declined to comment on social media postings about the shooting, including one that showed a low-resolution video shot by witnesses that appears to show two men with firearms. Police have discouraged people from posting details to social media, saying it could hinder their investigation.
Police responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of the park, located in the 3100 block of Cedar Links Drive, around 1:20 a.m. June 10. One young adult was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.
The department said in the immediate aftermath of the shooting it did not believe the shooting was a random occurrence.
Anyone with more information about the car or potential suspects is asked to call Det. Patrick Dennis at 541-774-2242.
