Crews from Knife River Materials work adjacent to Foothill Road and McAndrews Road. Foothill Road between Hillcrest Road and East McAndrews Road will close for construction from July 31 through late fall.

Foothill Road between Hillcrest Road and East McAndrews Road will close for construction beginning Monday, July 31, through late fall.

The closure will allow Knife River Materials to rebuild and widen the roadway quickly before winter, according to a news advisory Monday from the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The work is part of the $62 million Foothill Road project being constructed in part due to a $15 million Federal Build Ggrant received by Medford. It improves Foothill Road from Delta Waters Road south to Hillcrest Road.

When complete at the end of 2026, the existing two-lane road will feature two lanes in each direction, along with turn lanes, sidewalks, bike lanes and street lighting, the release said.

Project information and current construction schedule (subject to change) can be seen at FoothillRoadProject.org.
