July 7, 1942 – July 22, 2023
Bonnie Marie Werner of Medford, OR passed away July 22 at the age of 81, unexpectedly following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was generous, gracious and wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother. Bonnie was born the middle child of the late Nina Long Barnhart and Daniel Long in Hastings, NE. The family moved to Springfield, OR in 1947. She developed a severe heart condition and at the age of 7 and was the first Pediatric Cardiac surgical patient at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR.
Bonnie married Dale Osborn of Eugene in 1959. They had 2 daughters, Vicki and Teri. She met Scott Werner at a motorcycle event and they were married in 1976. They lived happily in Medford, OR. They enjoyed their motorcycle events, travels, camping & exploring the PNW. The two of them were very active in their church and activities.
Bonnie had a talent for organization and numbers, becoming a bookkeeper/accountant for many businesses/firms/groups in the Medford area.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved a challenge with her crossword puzzles & competing with her grandson and many friends with word games. Great memories were created in playing board games with her grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Scott; daughters Vicki Macormic, Teri (Cliff) Holden; grandchildren Jacob Holden (Leanna), Zach Macormic, Rachel Holden and 2 great-granddaughters Avabelle Grace and Emmie Ryan, whom she doted on, a bonus granddaughter, Jeneva, Sister, Shirley Hammar & Sister in Law, Kathy Long. She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother, Steve.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 19. 2023 at 11:00am at Rogue Valley Christian Church in Medford. Donations in Bonnie’s name may be made to the Salvation Army.
