Paper items that can now be recycled include envelopes, paper egg cartons, magazines and more.

Customers of Rogue Disposal & Recycling Inc. can add mixed-waste paper to their red-lid recycling bins as of Friday, the company announced.

The recycling market has become stable again, which has allowed for the return of mixed-waste paper to curbside recycling bins, according to Rogue Disposal.

Mixed-waste paper includes a wide range of common household items and is called “mixed” because it can include a variety of different grades of paper.

Examples of recyclable mixed-waste paper include egg cartons, magazines, cereal and cracker boxes (remove plastic liners), envelopes, file folders, greeting cards, index cards, junk mail, office paper, paperback books, pasta and rice boxes, phone books, pizza boxes (no grease, food residue or liners), shoe boxes, toilet paper tubes, paper towel tubes and wrapping paper.

Still off limits are candy wrappers, food-contaminated paper, frozen and refrigerated food boxes and cartons, pet food bags, paper towels and other items.
