Marian Thomsen of Medford celebrated her 100th birthday Friday.

Marian, a resident of Kinsington Oak Grove Memory Care, was born in Genesee, California, on Sept. 8, 1923. She was raised in a home with three siblings and graduated high school in Greenville, California, in 1940. Her favorite class was music, where she played the cornet.

She went on to Reno Business College and then started her career as a secretary. She had two boys, then became a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother.

She loves the music of the ‘40s, the piano and the accordion, and being a Rainbow Girl Leader. Her favorite shows include “M*A*S*H,” “Gunsmoke” and ‘The Andy Griffith Show.”
