Marjorie Webber

September 29, 1923 – August 14, 2023

Marjorie (Margie) Jean Webber passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023, at her home in The Cottages Senior Living community in Portland, Oregon just 45 days shy of her 100th birthday.

Born in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, she was the elder of two children to Wade Brien and Marjorie Merle (Hudson) Renfroe. After moving to Lubbock then San

Francisco, her family settled in Seattle.

Margie met her future husband, Ebbert (Bert) Webber, as a young teen in San Francisco. They were married in 1944. She graduated from the University of Washington as a Registered Nurse in 1945. With work relocations, the family moved around the Pacific Northwest eventually making Medford their home for over 50 years.

Throughout her life, Margie dedicated herself to nursing, working in various hospitals, public health departments, as a school nurse in a high school, the VA Domiciliary in White City, and as a physician’s assistant in Central Point.

She had an inquisitive mind and helpful spirit actively participating in numerous book clubs and volunteering at First Presbyterian Church in Medford where she served as an Elder, sang in the choir, and played the handbells. Margie enjoyed family time, sewing, gardening, and cherished traveling, especially along the Oregon coast.

Tennis was a lifelong passion. In later years, she even woke early to watch live tennis matches from Wimbledon. Her hearty laugh will be deeply missed.

Margie is survived by three of her four children, Marymerle, Dale (Rosalie), and Lauren (Frances). Her eldest son Richard passed away in 2016 and her husband in 2006. Margie adored her eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial and interment service was held on September 29 at 2 pm at the Eagle Point National Cemetery coinciding with what would have been her 100th birthday. It’s a fitting tribute to a life well-lived.
