William Charles Williams, 40, and Kennedy Marie Karpf, 24, both of Shelton, Washington, were lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail the same day the Medford Police Department was contacted by the United States Marshal’s Service, which believed the two fugitives were “possibly located in Medford,” according to an MPD news release.
Williams was arrested without incident around 7 p.m. after MPD, its SWAT team, drone team and crisis negotiators worked for several minutes to get him out of a residence in the 800 block of Swing Lane.
Karpf was arrested without incident outside a Medford Walmart around the same time, according to Medford police Lt. Geoff Kirkpatrick.

In an interview, Kirkpatrick said he could not release information about how Karpf and Williams know one another or their connections to the local area. He said any information about the reported homicide would be released by the Shelton Police Department, which did not immediately return phone calls and emails Thursday.
Kirkpatrick said that while Williams is wanted for the murder, Karpf is a fugitive on other charges in connection to the crime.
