Gloria Holloway
August 1, 1934 – October 14, 2023
Gloria (also affectionately known as Shug) was born in 1934, at home in Eagle Point, to Alvin and Jeri Greb. Her siblings were Darrel and Ronald.
While in school Gloria picked pears to make money for clothes. She was always very well dressed. In high school, she played violin in the orchestra. After graduation from Medford High School, she worked with her bother Darrel at the same bank. In 1954 Gloria met and married Harold Holloway and started a family.
Gloria’s parents owned a dairy on Ball road in Eagle Point. For a time she and her family lived with them and helped with milking and taking care of the dairy.
Summers were spent with her children camping at Willow Lake. Harold continued to work for Medford Corporation (MedCo) sawmill and came up on the weekends to be with his family.
When the children started school Gloria started work for Harry and David, aka Bear Creek. She did card writing for the gift baskets, because she had beautiful handwriting.
In 1968 Gloria’s cousin Ted Greb built a house for them next to her parents home on Royal Ave in Eagle Point. Gloria’s parents had retired from dairy farming.
As her children grew she started working as a secretary at the Eagle Point Junior High. While her boys were involved in sports, she and her husband Harold were avid sports supporters. They supported the sports programs even after the boys had graduated.
She is survived by her brother Ronald Greb of John Day, Oregon. Her brother Darrel passed away earlier this same year. Her husband Harold passed away in 1993. Her children are Scott H. Holloway, Michael R. Holloway and Cynthia A. Ross. There are also eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all.
