Takács Quartet: Chamber Music Concerts will present the Takács Quartet in concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., at Southern Oregon University. The quartet will perform a program featuring Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 76 no. 4 “Sunrise”; a commissioned work by Nokuthula Ngwenyama, “Flow;” and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59 no. 2 “Razumovsky.” In 2014 the Takács became the first string quartet to be awarded the Wigmore Hall Medal. In 2012, the group was the first string quartet to be inducted into its Hall of Fame, and the ensemble also won the 2011 Award for Chamber Music and Song presented by the Royal Philharmonic Society in London. Also look for “Mrs. Beekman’s Christmas Bazaar,” which has antiques, collectibles, old-fashioned toys, handcrafts, holiday items and more available for purchase. Admission to the “bazaar” is free. Tickets for the tour are $10, $5 for children ages 12 and younger. Tours are not recommended for children under 6 years, and groups are limited to eight people at a time.
