The second Chick-fil-A in Medford will employ dozens of Southern Oregonians when it opens next year, according to the highly popular Georgia-based chicken sandwich chain.

The new location under construction at Highway 99 and Garfield Street is scheduled to open “spring 2024” pending any delays, the company stated in an email earlier this week following requests for comment by the Rogue Valley Times.

“It’s our pleasure to confirm we will be opening our second restaurant in Medford,” the statement reads in part. “We look forward to joining the community and to serving all of our guests delicious food in an environment of genuine hospitality.”

The first Medford Chick-fil-A opened at 10 Rossanley Drive near Rogue Valley Mall in January 2020.

The company states that “each locally owned and operated restaurant creates 80-120 jobs in the area.”

The restaurant will feature a footprint of 4,947 square feet plus an outdoor dining area of 993 square feet, according to the construction proposal submitted to the Site Plan & Architectural Review Commission approved in December 2022.

The project is the highlight of Stewart Meadows Village’s fifth construction phase. Earlier phases have included Medford’s first Panera Bread location, which opened earlier this summer, and a 134-unit multi-family apartment complex.
