Audrea (Aud) Jane Pope passed away at her home in Medford, Oregon on November 14, 2023. She was born in 1929 in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota and moved to Eugene, Oregon in the 1930’s with her family during the depression. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Sophia Plath, brothers Marvin Plath, Alvin Plath, Don Plath and sisters Lois Durbin, Ruby Sigmon, Arlene Weber and Lorena Plath. She met the love of her life, Vinton Pope, while waitressing at a restaurant near the University of Oregon. They married on August 19th of 1950. After several moves they designed their dream home and raised their family in Medford Oregon. Vint passed away in 2017.
Aud was a stay at home Mom when her children were growing up. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, bowling, reading, camping and grew an amazing flower garden. Her creativity and propensity to fun knew no bounds. After retirement her and Vint traveled across the USA in their RV and they would spend time in the winter in warmer climates. Family was the most important to Aud and she had many friends. She will be missed by many.
She leaves behind her three children, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Son Ritch (Barbara) from Pleasant Hill, Oregon and their children Tenley Haaby, Bailey Tran (Khoa), Camron Pope. Great grandchildren: Kinsey and Ellie Haaby, Blake and Peyton Tran, Quincy and Lynden Pope. Son Rodney Pope (Jan) of Medford and their children Ryan Pope (Naomi) and Kyle Pope (Ryndell). Great grandchildren: Landon, Michael and Bradley Pope. Daughter Cindy Dietrich ( Bill) from Noti, Oregon and their children Jesse Dietrich and Ali Duer (Brett). Great grandchildren: Adrian and Madison Driggs, Mason Dietrich, Talon Templeton and Ruby Duer.
Celebration of life will be on Saturday January 13th at 2pm. Location is 3456 Britt Avenue, Medford Oregon.
