A Central Point man was killed Saturday after he collided with a car while riding his motorcycle on Highway 99, according to Oregon State Police.
Kevin L. Norman, 69, was on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling northbound on the highway around 2:40 p.m. when a Hyundai Elantra, stopped at Elk Street, made a left turn to go southbound on the highway, an OSP news release said. The car, driven by 38-year-old Melissa Dolmage of Medford, entered the path of the motorcycle, causing Norman to collide with the vehicle, according to the release.
Dolmage and an infant she was driving with were not injured, but Norman died at the scene, the release said.
Dolmage cooperated with authorities, who spent two-and-a-half hours on Highway 99 to conduct an investigation into the crash.
The investigation will be ongoing until the reports are completed and has been forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, OSP Capt. Kyle Kennedy wrote in an email. He said an investigation could take weeks or months to complete.
Kennedy said Tuesday OSP does not have further information about the crash to release at this time.
