A Medford woman died Friday evening after she stepped out of her vehicle on Interstate 5 near Wolf Creek and was struck by a semitrailer.
Tami Lee, 62, of Medford, is believed to have stopped her Kia Soul hatchback on southbound I-5 about one mile south of Wolf Creek shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday to check on an animal she may have struck, according to Oregon State Police Capt. Kyle Kennedy
Lee was out of her car in the slow lane when she was struck by a Freightliner semi driven by Bradley Dean Guile, 65, of Elmira, California. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene, and police say that Guile cooperated in the investigation.
