The day after Charter Communications, the operating company of the Spectrum brand, restored service to customers following weather issues and power outages, a second outage in Southern Oregon due to “vandalism” of fiber lines was reported Wednesday.

Danielle Dunn, Charter Communications director of communications for states in the Northwest region, confirmed the outages in an email Wednesday after numerous customers told the Rogue Valley Times they did not have services.

“Our fiber lines were cut earlier as a result of vandalism, impacting services for Spectrum customers in the Medford area,” Dunn wrote. “Our technicians responded right away, and we are currently making the necessary repairs to restore services as soon as possible.”

She added that Spectrum has already started to restore services and will continue to work until all have been restored.

Dunn did not provide more details about the alleged vandalism, including how many people and which Medford-area cities are impacted.

The second round of outages came two days after Spectrum customers began experiencing service outages Monday night. In that instance, Dunn reported around noon Tuesday that the local outage was over.
