Historic Candlelight Tour: Explore the secrets and mysteries of Jacksonville’s historic Beekman Bank on Saturdays, Feb. 10 and March 9. Regional historian Ben Truwe pursues these and other secrets and mysteries in 50-minute lantern light tours beginning at 5, 6:15, and 7:30 p.m. each tour night. Established in 1856 as a gold dust office, the current 1863 Beekman Bank building was constructed by Cornelius C. Beekman at 110 W. California Street in Jacksonville when he became the town’s Wells Fargo agent. Over $40 million in gold crossed Beekman’s counters during Jacksonville’s heyday in the 1800s — equivalent to almost $1 billion in today’s currency. Admission is $5. Tours are limited to a maximum of 12 people, and reservations are required. All proceeds benefit the preservation and maintenance of the landmark. Timberline Express Big Band: Martin Behnke’s locally based Timberline Express Big Band will present a free concert, “A Valentine for the Valley,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St, Medford. The program will feature original music written by Director/composer Martin Behnke, including the premiere of “Elements,” a five movement “Suite for Jazz Orchestra,” accompanied by a coordinated video by Greeley Wells and Ed Keller.
