First Friday Art WalkStroll the galleries, studios and restaurants and take in the visual and flavorful delights in downtown Ashland and the Historic Railroad District from 5 to 8 p.m. the first Friday of every month. This free, year-round community event is filled with a diverse array of artwork, eclectic visual delights, intimate music, artist demonstrations, refreshments and conversation. The experience continues to grow as you visit each gallery and studio. Art walk maps are available at any of the venues. American Trails: The gallery, located in the Columbia Hotel, 250 E. Main St., Ashland, features art and crafts of the Indigenous peoples in North and South America. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. See americantrails.com or call 541-482-2553.

Art & Soul Ashland: The gallery features paintings in a variety of media and styles, pottery, photography and more by local and regional artists. Currently featured are miniature artworks — each piece being only six inches by six inches — by each of their artist members. Art & Soul Ashland, 247 E. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by local artists in myriad media such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. The gallery, at 213 E. Main St., Medford, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. Private viewings are available outside open business hours by reservation. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, features work by member artists in a variety of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and fabric. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features the work of local artists in a variety of media, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry and garden art. The art collective, at 291 Oak St., Ashland, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays. Central Art Gallery: Central Art will feature the work of Darlene Southworth, Heron Hetzler and Les Hansel. The show will be on exhibit through Feb. 3. The gallery space, 101 N. Central Ave., Medford, is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, except during classes. Fiber Arts Collective: See the work of approximately 30 fiber artisans at 37 N. Third St., Ashland. Exhibits include sewing, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, felting, binding, collaging, painting, printing, stenciling, beading and assemblage pieces. Gallerie Karon: The gallery, at 300 E. Main St., Ashland, showcases the work of 24 artists and photographers, handmade dolls and plush animals, vintage textiles and jewelry, antiques and furnishings. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. Call 541-482-9008.

Gambrel Gallery: The gallery, which features work by a variety of local artists, is located in an iconic red barn at 1980 E. Main St., Ashland. Gypsy Road Studio: The two-story gallery, located at 369 E. Main Street, Ashland, offers a global experience of international and local artwork, vintage and artisan jewelry, rare global antiquities, home decor, collectibles and artisan pieces and a contemporary salon-style art gallery. Oak Leaf Studio: Located at 247 Oak St., Ashland, Oak Leaf Studio is the working and gallery space of local artist Leif Trygg, who works in a variety of media, including pastel, watercolor, acrylic and digital imaging. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, featuring work by local artists, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Main Gallery will feature a portrait series by Jay Gordon, “The 100 Heads Challenge,” on view through Feb 23. Running through March 1, local nonprofit BASE will partner with RGAC in honor of Black History Month with an exhibit in the Community Gallery. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art, 555 Indiana St. Ashland, is currently displaying the exhibit, “What’s at Stake,” on view through March 23. This exhibition brings together the work of three visual artists — Masami Teraoka, Al Farrow, and Zeina Barakeh — investigating pressing issues of our time.
