- Ben McAdoo, who served as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2023, is joining Jerod Mayo’s coaching staff with the New England Patriots.
The New England Patriots are hiring former New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo as an offensive assistant, sources tell Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
McAdoo joins the new-look Patriots coaching staff under coach Jerod Mayo. He will work closely with offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, whom he worked alongside while they were both assistants with the Green Bay Packers.
McAdoo, 46, started his NFL coaching career with the New Orleans Saints as an assistant in 2004 and held positions with the Packers and San Francisco 49ers before joining the Giants as their OC in 2014.

He was promoted to head coach in 2016 after the resignation of Tom Coughlin and led the team to a 11–5 record but was fired in 2017 after starting the season 2–10. Since then, he’s had stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers finished this past season with a 2–15 record while the Patriots ended with a 4–13 mark.
