- The Barnstormer's Spring Market will include a wide range of goods available.
The Barnstormer’s Fair is bringing a heap of changes in 2024, starting with the newly-combined spring and summer shows becoming the Barnstormer’s Spring Market at the Jackson County Expo.
With the combined format, the spring show will be the largest of its kind for Barnstormer’s, bringing in more than 100 vendors and expanding the variety of goods offered during the April event.
“What I found was that there were so many good boutique-type shops that weren’t vintage, and I had to turn them away,” Barnstormer’s owner Shelly Britt said of previous limitations. “The summer show was great but it was really hot and hard to manage outside, so I decided to put spring and summer together and do away with the heavy vintage restrictions.”
Breaking away from previous requirements of vendors offering exclusively vintage or vintage-adjacent products, the spring show will have many more booths than previous years.
“It allowed us to bring in 25% more vendors; we have over 100 (vendors) for the first time, which is super exciting,” Britt said.
The Barnstormer’s Spring Market will include two days of shopping: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 7, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8.
Friday tickets cost $10 per person and allow visitors to return Saturday with the same ticket; Saturday tickets cost $7 apiece.
Tickets can be purchased at barnstormers.ticketleap.com/barnstormers-spring-market.
For those who purchase tickets online, they will be allowed to enter the Barnstormer’s show one hour early on Friday.
The event will be hosted at The Expo, located at 1 Peninger Road in Central Point.
Interested parties can not only save money but also give to local nonprofit The Medford Food Project by bringing one canned good for a $3 reduction in the ticket cost, and two cans Saturday for a $2 reduction for their ticket.
Those who donate canned goods will also be enrolled in a raffle through Hearts with a Mission, a local nonprofit centered on establishing shelters for youth in Jackson County experiencing homelessness.
With Barnstormer’s being around for more than a decade, the spring market will be the first show to offer an expanded list of goods such as artisanal soap, trendy
boutique clothes, handcrafted items and other knick-knacks. But the owner was
adamant about maintaining a high
amount of vintage goods for longtime
customers.
“I still try to keep a balance between the different types of vendors, and create a unique enough experience with the shoppers and as inclusive as I can for vendors,” Britt said, adding, “the idea was to make the shows more accessible.”
Other customer- and vendor-friendly changes have been made, such as a lower cost of entry for vendors and expanding the type of products on offer, with this year being the first to feature boutique clothing.
“I’m super excited about that,” Britt said of the garments and other new goods on offer.
The fall Barnstormer’s show has been switched up as well to become The Holiday Bazaar by Barnstormer’s in November, centered on holiday items and other crafts.
In order to not compete directly with The Expo’s holiday market, Barnstormer’s will be headed to Rogue X, taking over the brand-new wellness center and event space in November.
The holiday-centered market will be held Nov. 2-3.
“I think it is more space, climate-controlled and clean,” Britt said of Rogue X.
“That different focus will allow us to have a different venue,” Britt added.
