- Tyler Burrow, who was arrested Tuesday at a rural camp northeast of Trail, was later questioned by investigators about his missing girlfriend, Bailey Blunt, who was last seen Sept. 22 near Eureka, California. He was picked up on a warrant in an unrelated assault case, and provided no information on her whereabouts, according to a spokesman for the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office.
A California man previously questioned by detectives regarding the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend was arrested in Jackson County again on Monday.
Tyler Thomas Burrow, 25, the ex-boyfriend of Bailey Faye Aralene Blunt, 28, missed a court date in Trinity County, California, on an assault charge unrelated to the woman’s disappearance, leading a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest.
On April 1, around 10:30 p.m, a Jackson County sheriff’s deputy spotted Burrow heading west on Highway 62 driving a motorcycle with a tail light out, according to Aaron Lewis, a public information officer for the sheriff’s office. The deputy discovered Burrow’s arrest warrant after he was pulled over for the traffic stop, Lewis said.
Burrow was lodged in the Jackson County Jail without bail on the fugitive warrant and no local charges, Lewis said.
The Rogue Valley Times’ calls to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office seeking comment were not immediately returned.
Monday’s arrest of Burrow marks the second time in recent months Jackson County sheriff’s deputies have apprehended him.
On Nov. 14, 2023, Burrow was arrested at a remote forest camp northeast of Trail, where local authorities, as well as detectives from the Humboldt County (California) Sheriff’s Office, searched a vehicle.
Humboldt County sheriff’s detectives, having released a missing persons report for Blunt and Burrow, questioned the California man about his ex-girlfriend’s whereabouts, but the conversation did not unearth any leads, Bryan Quenell, a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said at the time.
Humboldt County sheriff’s Lt. Kyle Holt, head of the office’s major crimes division, said Thursday that Burrow is considered “an involved person” in the case of Blunt and that he has invoked his right not to speak to authorities.
