The Eagle Point school bond had sought to cover a new elementary classroom building at Shady Cove School, a new gym at Hillside Elementary, new classrooms at Eagle Point High School, above, plus new middle school classrooms.

The principal of Eagle Point High School said Monday her school is offering support to students who were near a reported suicide at a White City shooting range involving a recent EPHS graduate.

The victim died at a range Sunday while the high school skeet team was practicing at an adjacent range, principal Heather Marinucci said in a statement.

School counselors and support staff are in “close contact” with the affected students and are ready to respond to anyone in the school community who is coping with the suicide, the statement said.

The principal urged parents and guardians to talk to their children to see if they are experiencing mental health challenges.
