Larry George Boldt

November 18, 1954 – March 28, 2024

Larry George Boldt, beloved husband, brother, son, and friend, passed away on Thursday, March 28th, 2024, at his home in Southern Oregon.

Larry was born to John and Joyce Boldt in La Crosse, WI, on November 18, 1954. The third of five siblings, he grew up in a close-knit family, and often recalled their neighborhood as an ideal place to experience childhood. He graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1972.

Larry studied social psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and, after a period of continued self-education, travel, spiritual development, and volunteer service, settled in California. There he began writing and consulting work dedicated to helping seekers attune to their inner strength and wisdom, bring their dreams into focus, and discover and create their life’s work.

Larry (as author Laurence G. Boldt) went on to publish five books focused on career and personal growth. These included “Zen and the Art of Making a Living”, “How to Find the Work You Love”, “The Tao of Abundance”, “Zen Soup”, and “How to Be Do or Have Anything”. His ability to apply principles of ancient wisdom East and West to the questions of modern life was a gift to all.

In his capacity as a career and life coach, he inspired many to realize and share their own unique gifts.

Driven by his deep sense of compassion, Larry’s desire to serve extended beyond the realms of career discovery and personal growth, and he also wrote extensively in a wide range of subject areas including theology, history, politics, and economics.

Larry and his wife, Tina, first met in Santa Barbara, CA in 1994. They moved to Talent, OR in 2004. They shared an extraordinary love, deep friendship, and aligned purpose. They are eternally grateful for having been brought together by God.

Wherever he traveled, Larry sought out nature’s beauty and healing influences. Southern Oregon and Mount Shasta, CA were among his favorite places to explore. As a young man, he had completed a 40-day wilderness fast. An avid backpacker, he had also hiked the length of the John Muir Trail. He and Tina spent their honeymoon exploring the magnificence of Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his dearly loved siblings Stephen, Linda (Hansen), Jeffrey, David, and their families, and a close circle of devoted friends and champions of his work.

His immediate family and nearest friends are planning private celebrations of his life.

Larry’s brilliance and transformative influence lives on forever in our hearts. What he wished for everyone he shared through his writing.
