Medford Soroptimist Garden Tour: Soroptimist International of Medford will hold its 21st annual “Gardens for Good Tour” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Take a self-guided tour through four diverse gardens, ranging in style, form and function at various locations in the Rogue Valley. Tour tickets are $20 each. Low-cost Pet Vaccines: Make an appointment for your pet to get vaccinated and microchipped the third Saturday of each month. This drive-thru, appointment-only clinic is open to dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Vaccines available for dogs are rabies and the vaccine for distemper, distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, and the parvovirus. The FVRCP vaccine available for cats is for panleukopenia (feline distemper), rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus. Reservations must be made by Friday before the scheduled clinic. All vaccinations are $20 each; microchips are $25 per pet. This is a cash-only clinic. All pets must be in good health. Pets that are on antibiotics, in heat or on cortisone products cannot be vaccinated. Living History Tour: Step back almost a century and experience Depression-era Jacksonville. Become part of this one-hour “play” as you interact with actors portraying Carrie and Ben Beekman, other Beekman family members and their former housekeeper. The Beekmans will sort through family belongings, commenting on 1932 local and national events, and reminiscing about life in the late 1800s as one of Southern Oregon’s richest and most prominent pioneer families. Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo: One of the staple events in Southern Oregon is the annual Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo at the Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Road, Central Point. ‘Triptychs’: Todd Barton and Bruce Bayard will present a concert series every Saturday through June 8, at The DanceSpace, 280 E. Hersey St., Ashland. Each of the concerts will feature a guest artist — Michael Vannice, electronics; David Bithell, trumpet, electronics; Terry Longshore, percussion; and Suzee Grilley, Taiko — along with Bayard’s video, “Triptychs,” which is a continually evolving collage of film clips, stills, word lists and animations. Rogue World Music Festival: Rogue World Music will host its ninth annual Rogue World Music Festival (previously known as the Ashland World Music Festival) Friday through Monday, May 24-27, at various locations around Ashland, Talent and Medford. The festival kicks off with a SoundWalk — a self-guided walk through the downtown cityscape of Ashland featuring music you listen to on your mobile device from local, national and international musicians curated to align with art displays in local business windows. The SoundWalk will be available for the duration of the festival. The 2024 RWMF will feature live main stage events highlighting culture-bearing musical artists in Ashland’s Lithia Park and Medford’s Pear Blossom Park, a HeartBeat Stories event in Talent, percussion and instrument workshops in Medford, and more. The festival includes multiple shows by musicians and dance groups, including performances by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist La Doña, classical Arabic and Andalusian duo Seffarine, the Renegade Orchestra, Dirty Cello, Afro-fusion band Duniya, Hālau Hula Ka Pi’o O Ke Ānuenue, and many others.
