Kerry Marie Bixby

April 18th, 1960 – June 9th, 2024

Kerry Marie Bixby (née Bellack) passed away peacefully at her ranch in Central Point on June 9th, 2024. She was 64.

Kerry was born April 18th, 1960, in Eugene, Oregon, to Margaret Jean Ekerson (née Alley) and the late John Aris Bellack. She graduated from Colorado State University, where she met her husband, Scott William Bixby. They married in 1983 and lived in various states, including Colorado, Ohio, Texas, Washington, Arizona, Kansas, and Oregon.

Kerry earned a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and was active in volunteer work that addressed a variety of women’s mental health issues.

Kerry enjoyed a lifelong passion for riding, training, and breeding Arabian horses, which remained a significant part of her life. As an equestrian, she mentored many young women over the years who shared her passion for horses, coaching them in both equitation and in self-confidence.

She is survived by her husband, Scott William Bixby; sons Scott Edward Bixby (m. Andrew Keenan-Bolger) and William Hadley Bixby (m. Alyssa Bixby); and grandson, Henry Gabriel Bixby. She also leaves behind her mother, Margaret Jean Ekerson, and brothers, Mark Aris Bellack and John Richard Bellack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kerry’s memory to the Temple Grandin Equine Center at Colorado State University, or to any women’s mental health organizations. A private family service will be held.
