UPDATE: Power restored in southern Jackson County

Power has been restored to the 2,000-plus Pacific Power customers in southern Jackson County who experienced an outage Tuesday evening.

More than 2,000 people are without power in southern Jackson County, and Pacific Power says crews are being dispatched to address the outage.

The power company estimates that service will be back online by the end of the evening.

The outage was first reported at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday and is impacting 2,098 customers in Talent’s 97540, Ashland’s 97520 and Medford’s 97504 ZIP codes, according to an update on the power company’s outage map.

The cause is under investigation, but crews had been notified of the outage as of the 7 p.m. update. Pacific Power estimates that power will be restored by 9 p.m.
