- Demand for electricity in the Northwest is expected to grow at its fastest pace in decades. Demand in Oregon is being driven by an influx of large data centers in the region.
For the second time in less than 24 hours, more than 2,000 Pacific Power customers in southern Jackson County have experienced a power outage.
The outage was first reported just after 11:40 a.m. Wednesday and affects people in zip codes 97520, 97504, 97540 according to the power company’s website.
The cause is under investigation, and crews are expected to restore power by 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the website.
On Tuesday, about the same number of customers in the same three zip codes were hit with an outage that lasted from late afternoon until early evening.
Meanwhile, more than 1,800 customers in the Grants Pass area are also without power. That outage was first reported at 11:34 a.m. and is expected to be over by 3 p.m., according to the website.
