Third Friday MedfordGalleries, restaurants, shops and studios in downtown Medford unveil new exhibits, host art demonstrations, offer special meals and more from 5 to 8 p.m. the third Friday of every month. The art walk celebrates all that downtown has to offer — shopping, dining, art and culture — and new experiences are offered each month. AIFF Gallery: See new contemporary art and digital video from local artists Beca Blake and Dave Leibowitz in the exhibit “Mise-En-Scéne” on display through July at the AIFF Film Center Gallery, 389 E. Art & Soul Ashland: The gallery features paintings in a variety of media and styles, pottery, photography and more by local and regional artists. On display throughout July, see work by Julie Furrer in the exhibit “Botanical Nouveau Ceramics.” Art & Soul Ashland, 247 E. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by local artists in myriad media such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. A collection of color pencil pieces by featured artist Roy Musitelli will be shown on the Feature Wall; The Art Vault will showcase the work from members of the Pastel Artists of Oregon. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, features work by member artists in a variety of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and fabric. Throughout July, see oil and pastel work by Judy Richardson, and photography by Caleb Salvadori. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays-Sundays. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features the work of local artists in a variety of media, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry and garden art. Throughout July, see work by Amy Baumgart and Cheryl Kempner. Central Art Gallery: See large-scale oil paintings by Martin Steele. These pieces have never been shown and are being exhibited for the first time. The exhibition will be on view July 19-Aug. 9. Fiber Arts Collective: See the work of approximately 30 fiber artisans at 37 N. Third St., Ashland. Exhibits include sewing, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, felting, binding, collaging, painting, printing, stenciling, beading and assemblage pieces. Currently featured is the exhibit, “The Answer is Nature, What is the Question?” featuring a diverse selection of artwork made by each of their artist members. Oak Leaf Studio: Located at 247 Oak St., Ashland, Oak Leaf Studio is the working and gallery space of local artist Leif Trygg, who works in a variety of media, including pastel, watercolor, acrylic and digital imaging. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, featuring work by local artists, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Main Gallery exhibit “Biophilia: Threads of Natural Wonder,” a Studio Art Quilt Associates juried exhibition, will be on display through Aug. 23. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art, 555 Indiana St. Ashland, will display the exhibit, “Pacing,” featuring the photography work of Dru Donovan, Melanie Flood and Tarrah Krajnak, on view through Aug. 10. The act of pacing involves moving forward in a measured, almost rhythmic manner. This exhibition grew from ideas related to this movement — serving as a reflection on duality through the lens-based works of three mid-career, female-identifying photographers. While each artist has a distinct aesthetic and concept, they use performative methods to document their body and those of others to reflect on their relationships to social histories, expectations and structures. Also see a rotating slate of exhibitions focused on historical and contemporary perspectives of art and progressive work by nationally and internationally-recognized artists. Siskiyou Gallery House: The gallery, 2475 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, features fine art in myriad media such as watercolor, egg tempera, acrylic, pencil and ink, handcrafted jewelry, hand-painted wearable silk art and locally crafted herbal tinctures. Talent Gallery: The new Talent Gallery, 111 Talent Ave., Talent, occupies the larger portion of the historic Malmgren Garage, completely renovated after burning down to its walls in the 2020 Almeda Fire. Ten artist owners and nine artist associate members, all local, will show a wide range of styles and mediums including painting, original prints, ceramics, photography and fossil sculptures.
