August 12, 1940 – July 13, 2024
Linda Ellen Bylund (Franson), 83, went to be with her Savior on July 13, 2024. Linda was born August 12, 1940, in Manhattan, New York, the only child of Harry and Helen (Cziko) Franson. Linda’s family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1950. She graduated from Cheyenne Mountain School in 1958. Linda studied art at Colorado College and met her beloved husband, David LeBaron Bylund, whom she married on October 7, 1960. They had three children in Colorado Springs before moving to Fremont, California, in 1970 and later to Jacksonville, Oregon, in 2003.
Linda was devoted to her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. Affectionately called “Lindy” by her husband, she was a loving wife for nearly 64 years. Linda was known for her gentle spirit, style, and artistic talents. Linda enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking, and collecting art, dolls, miniatures, and toys. She and David shared a passion for classic cars and cherished frequent trips to Hawaii. A dedicated documenter of life’s moments, Linda created photo albums for each of her family members and never missed sending a greeting card to loved ones. Linda was an avid cross-stitcher, leaving behind many cherished creations. Linda’s favorite scripture, Numbers 6:24-26, was a cornerstone of her life and marriage.
Linda is survived by her husband, David Bylund; three children, Adam Bylund, Colin Bylund, and Jill Vargas; eight grandchildren, Brittney Rodriguez, Matthew Bylund, Alan Bylund, Jessie Wolter, Connor Bylund, Joslyn Vargas, Alex Bylund, and Joseph Vargas; and seven great-grandchildren. Linda’s legacy of love, faith, and creativity will forever inspire her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at MTN Church, 1 East Main Street, Medford, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Wilderness Trails and Hearts with a Mission.
