Weather forecasters say temperatures could drop to the lower 90s Saturday in the Rogue Valley as precipitation moves in, but it will be short-lived.
The National Weather Service office in Medford predicts a 40% chance of showers Saturday, with thunderstorms developing in some areas. The high in the lower 90s would be average for this time of year. However, high temperatures will return to above normal by Sunday and into Monday, eclipsing 100 degrees, according to forecasters.
A heat advisory is in effect until 8 a.m. Saturday. An air pollution advisory due to wildfire smoke expired at noon Friday.
Temperatures are predicted to hover close to the century mark Tuesday through Thursday, with highs near 98, according to the NWS website.
