Arrests

Failure to appear, criminal trespass — Jordan Reid Allen, 36, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Allen Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of third-degree theft, third-degree robbery, second-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct and harassment, as well as on charges of failure to report as a sex offender, second-degree criminal trespass and harassment. Allen was lodged in jail on $20,000 bail.

Rape, sexual abuse — John Carrie Benjamin, 75, of the 400 block of West Pine Street, Central Point. Central Point police arrested Benjamin Tuesday on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, failure to report as a sex offender, third-degree theft and fourth-degree assault. Benjamin was lodged in jail on $500,000 bail.

Encouraging child sex abuse — Jed Randall Burns, 40, of the 300 block of Leafwood Drive, Eagle Point. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Burns Tuesday on charges of second-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, along with a parole violation for first-degree encouraging child sex abuse. Burns was lodged in jail without bail.

Failure to appear — Esteban Estrada, 41, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Estrada Tuesday on warrants for failure to appear on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and reckless endangering. Estrada was lodged in jail and released on his own recognizance.

Probation violation, theft — William Mathew Girard, 40, no known address. Medford police arrested Girard Tuesday on charges of first-degree theft and first-degree criminal mischief, as well as a probation violation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Girard was lodged in jail on $7,500 bail.

Failure to report as a sex offender — Marisa Amber Graves, 37, of the 500 block of Palm Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Graves Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of failure to report as a sex offender. Graves was lodged in jail without bail.

Manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants — Forest Anthony Herrera, 33, of the 400 block of Foots Creek Road, Gold Hill. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Herrera Wednesday on charges of first-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief. Herrera was lodged in jail without bail.
