‘Windows in Time’ History Lecture: As part of the free “Windows in Time” library lecture series, Ben Truwe, Research Associate of the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology and member of the West Side Community Coalition Board of Directors, will present “Mining the Archives: Recent Discoveries Among the Glass Negatives” at noon Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Truwe will give an update on discoveries made during Southern Oregon Historical Society’s ongoing glass negative scanning project. This project has uncovered new photos by Peter Britt, including the original negatives of his first successful trip to Crater Lake, his tour up the Klamath River in the 1870s, and his visits to the railroad construction camps in the 1880s. SOHS has also scanned a trove of portraits by Central Point photographer Robert Vinton Beall and mysterious images by unidentified photographers. This presentation will showcase the most intriguing of these scans of local people and scenes that have gone unseen for over a century. Sanctuary One Tours: Sanctuary One, a nonprofit animal rescue care farm, will offer tours at 10:30 a.m. every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 26, at 13195 Upper Applegate Road, Jacksonville. Classic Albums Live — Fleetwood Mac ‘Rumours’: Classic Albums Live, a concert series that takes classic albums and recreates them live on stage, note for note and cut for cut, will feature a recreation of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 S. First St., Jacksonville. “Rumours” was the 11th studio album by Fleetwood Mac and the band’s most successful. It reached the top of both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the U.K. Albums Chart and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1977. Several songs, including “Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way” were released as singles and reached the U.S. Top 10. The album went on to sell more than 40 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. Thunderstruck: The 28th annual Thunderstruck Xtreme Bike & Car Show will converge on the lawn behind the Rogue Regency Inn & Suites, 2300 Biddle Road in Medford, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Low-cost Pet Vaccines: Make an appointment for your pet to get vaccinated and microchipped the third Saturday of each month. This drive-thru, appointment-only clinic is open to dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening: Drummer Jason Bonham — son of John Bonham, one of the original members of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin — and his band will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 S. First St., Jacksonville. At the age of five, Jason could play the drums with skill. When he was 17 he was a member of the band Air Race. The group signed a record contract with Atlantic Records, recorded one album, and opened for big names like Queen, Meat Loaf, Ted Nugent, and AC/DC. John Bonham died in 1980, but Jason, who has marked a few places in music history himself, has stepped in from time to time to help keep his father’s memory alive. Tickets are $76 for reserved seating, $74 for standing room only, $58 for lawn seating, and $48 for ages 12 and younger.
