Julita Ann Weldes

June 7, 1930 – August 31, 2024

Julita was born to Jean and Joseph Chambliss in Wisconsin. She had 3 older sisters and two younger brothers.

When 21, Julita joined the Corp of Engineers in Alaska. There she met and married Glenn Wood. They later moved to Florida where they worked at Cape Canaveral. Their daughters, Elaine and Laura were born in Melbourne.

In 1967, after living in Colorado for 6 years, they moved to California to go into full time ministry. Julita loved co-ministering, teaching and writing.

Glenn and Julita divorced in 1985 and Julita moved to Delaware. There she met and married Helmut Weldes. Much to her delight, they traveled extensively.

After Helmut’s death in 1999, Julita moved to Jacksonville. She lived at Daisy Creek Apartments for over twenty years. Maintaining an active social life, she enjoyed sharing conversation, Canasta card games, and meals with family and friends.

Julita is survived by 2 daughters, 3 granddaughters, a grandson, and a great grandson. A Zoom Celebration of Life Service will be held Oct. 19th at 1:00. ID: 880 9402 3710, Passcode: Julita
