Ronald David Staniforth
November 29, 1937 – October 4, 2024
Ron was an affectionate and loving man known for his infectious smile, bright blue eyes, and his positive outlook. His enthusiastic personality & laugh brought joy to everyone. He was a jokester, a friend to everyone, and will very much missed by all.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bowling, hunting. fishing, camping, playing cards, cribbage and he was known throughout the Rogue Valley for his unlimited high arch pitch softball that he enjoyed immensely up until he was 70 years of age, and then even played one last time on a senior team at the age of 80 and got a hit!
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to Henry and Louise Staniforth and was one of seven children.
Ron joined the Navy in 1956, married his “Luv” Patricia Garrett in 1957 and was married for nearly 58 years. She preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother Dexter Staniforth.
Their family started with the birth of their first born Patty May in 1958, and she was soon, followed by Ronnie Staniforth, Marie Hess and Susie White and then his 3 loving sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. His world was his family and making cherished memories with them. He sang “Good morning world” and “oh what a beautiful morning” to wake them up and they have carried on the tradition.
Among his varied jobs over the years, he worked at Grange Co-op and owned/operated Rogue Valley Fire Extinguishers for many, many years.
Ron passed away peacefully with his family by his side & went on to glory with his Saviour Jesus Christ while living at Bartlett House Memory Care. Services will be held at Harvest Baptist Temple in Medford, November 16 at 4:00. Funeral arrangements were made by Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
