UPDATED RESULTS: Jackson County ballot measures roundup; RCC bond fails

The following are preliminary updated results as of Thursday morning from the Jackson County Elections office, with more ballots being processed through Nov. 12. Final election results will be certified Dec. 2. Turnout in Jackson County is at 70.86%, with 116,682 voters out of 164,662 eligible voters casting ballots so far.
Jackson County
- Measure 17-119 — Rogue Community College $60.3-million bond — The measure covering improvements to RCC campuses in White City, Medford and Grants Pass was failing across the district with 54.6% of 106,920 votes cast across Jackson County against the bond. In Josephine County, voters were nearly 3 to 1 against the bond (74.9% against out of 40,673 votes counted).
“Although the bond measure didn’t pass, we remain dedicated to providing high-quality educational programs and supporting the needs of our students, local economy and broader community,” RCC President Randy Weber said in a statement Wednesday morning. “We’re grateful to everyone who worked so hard to communicate the importance of this capital bond to the community and to those who came out to vote.”
Ashland
- Measure 15-232 — Open seat election — [Editor’s note: This total has been corrected from Tuesday evening.] The measure removing the requirement that city council candidates run for a designated seat number was passing with 80.9% of 10,946 votes cast.
- Measure 15-233 — Municipal judge — The measure seeking to make Ashland’s municipal judge an appointed position rather than an elected one was failing with 66.9% of 11,138 votes cast.
- Measure 15-234 — Water revenue bonds — The measure putting to voters whether to issue up to $75 million in government revenue bonds for water treatment plant improvements was passing with 72.2% of 11,601 votes cast.
Rogue River
- Measure 15-230 — Term limits — The ballot measure intended to simplify the maximum term limits for any Rogue River elected official to a maximum 16 years as city councilor or mayor was passing with 67.4% of 1,092 votes counted.
- Measure 15-231 — Psilocybin business ban — The measure prohibiting psilocybin service centers or businesses that manufacture psilocybin products is passing with 65.6% of 1,139 votes counted.
Gold Hill
- Measure 15-235 — Revise city charter — The measure extending the mayor’s term limit to four years along with other city charter updates related to voting and quorum requirements was passing with 64.9% of 594 votes counted.
Other measures
- Measure 17-123 — Three Rivers School District $39 million bond — The bond for residents in the district covering Josephine County and a small section of Jackson County voters for reroofing and securing schools in the district was failing with 57.4% of 736 votes cast against it across Jackson counties. In Josephine County, 74.15% of the 24,679 votes were cast against the measure.
