Third Friday Medford

Galleries, restaurants, shops and studios in downtown Medford unveil new exhibits, host art demonstrations, offer special meals and more from 5 to 8 p.m. the third Friday of every month. The art walk celebrates all that downtown has to offer — shopping, dining, art and culture — and new experiences are offered each month. American Trails: The gallery, located in the Columbia Hotel, 250 E. Main St., Ashland, features art and crafts of the Indigenous peoples in North and South America. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. See americantrails.com or call 541-482-2553.

Art & Soul Ashland: The gallery features paintings in a variety of media and styles, pottery, photography and more by local and regional artists. During the month of November, see prints by R.C. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by local artists in myriad media such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. The Grey Wall will feature the exhibit “Tiny Treasures,” showcasing artist members’ 12-by-12” or smaller works priced at $88 a piece throughout November. The “Tiny Treasures” showcase is in honor of the gallery’s 20th anniversary celebration. The gallery, at 213 E. Art on First: Currently featured at Art on First gallery, 20 S. First St., Ashland, are whimsical sea glass sculptures by Rebecca Hobbs on display throughout November. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, features work by member artists in a variety of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and fabric. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features the work of local artists in a variety of media, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry and garden art. The art collective, at 291 Oak St., Ashland, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays. Fiber Arts Collective: See the work of approximately 30 fiber artisans at 37 N. Third St., Ashland. Exhibits include sewing, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, felting, binding, collaging, painting, printing, stenciling, beading and assemblage pieces. The November featured exhibit, “The Four Elements,” will showcase paintings by Cindy Triplett exploring her interpretations and personifications of fire, earth, air and water. Grants Pass Museum of Art: The museum, located upstairs at 229 S.W. Gypsy Road Studio: The two-story gallery, located at 369 E. Main Street, Ashland, offers a global experience of international and local artwork, vintage and artisan jewelry, rare global antiquities, home decor, collectibles and artisan pieces and a contemporary salon-style art gallery. Houston’s Custom Framing and Fine Art: The gallery, at 280 E. Hersey St., Suite 11, Ashland, is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and by appointment. Langford Art Gallery: See a group art exhibition, “Autumn X,” featuring the works of 14 local artists, including renowned sculptor Jack Langford, at the gallery, 4850 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix. The exhibit will be on display Nov. 10- Dec. 1. An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10; an artists reception will be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 16. Oak Leaf Studio: Located at 247 Oak St., Ashland, Oak Leaf Studio is the working and gallery space of local artist Leif Trygg, who works in a variety of media, including pastel, watercolor, acrylic and digital imaging. Phree Gallery 144: See work by local artists at the Phree Gallery, a contemporary gallery space, located at the Phoodery, 208 N. Main St., Phoenix. A commencement will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, to unveil the new display to the community. New exhibitions will be on display the second Friday of each month with live music and a Phoenix “Second Phriday” celebration. An “Autumn X” artist talk will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, featuring work by local artists, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Main Gallery will feature an artist members’ exhibition “Making Your Mark,” through Dec. 20. The Members’ Gallery features all new work by over 35 RGAC members in myriad media. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art, 555 Indiana St. Ashland, will feature John Yau’s collaborations in the exhibit “Disguise the Limit,” on view through Dec.14. This exhibition is the first examination of the various collaborative works that poet/author/critic Yau has created with a range of visual artists during the past five decades. These include paintings, mixed media works on paper, print portfolios, artist books and letterpress broadsides. The museum displays a rotating slate of exhibitions focused on historical and contemporary perspectives of art and progressive work by local artists and nationally and internationally-recognized artists. Talent Gallery: The new Talent Gallery, 111 Talent Ave., Talent, occupies the restored historic Malmgren Garage. Twenty member artists show a wide range of styles and mediums including painting, original prints, ceramics, photography and fossil sculptures. New works are currently on display.
