The body of Joshua James McCoy, 5, was found Tuesday by the Coos County Sheriff's Office.

The 5-year-old boy missing in Coos County since Saturday was found dead on Tuesday, sheriff’s office officials said.

Joshua James McCoy was found 2 miles down the road from his home on Stage Road in the unincorporated Coos County community of Hauser, the department said.

Authorities in Oregon and California participated in the search, which started Saturday evening after his mother reported she woke up from a nap she had taken with her son only to find he was not there.
