The Salvation Army Medford Corps is asking the community to pick up wish ornament tags on Christmas trees at the Rogue Valley Mall and other local locations to give some holiday cheer to a child in need.

Around 200 kids’ Christmas wishlists remain unclaimed as the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program nears its final day Saturday, Dec. 14. According to a release issued Thursday from the charity, the program typically helps more than 1,500 kids each holiday season.

Those looking to help can pick up a tag that shows the gift list for those 200 children, and drop off gifts in a variety of locations around the Rogue Valley, including the Rogue Valley Mall and local Walmart locations.

Locations to pick up tags include: Allergy and Asthma Center of Southern Oregon, Ashland YMCA, BBSI, Brodie’s Dental, Cloud Massage, Completely Floored, Jacksonville Vet, Louisa’s Beauty Shop, Kelly’s Automotive, Key Bank in Ashland and Central Point, Lippert’s Carpet One, Marshall’s, Mercedes Benz of Medford, Olive Garden, Photo Creations Studio, Providence Hospital, Rogue Flooring, Rogue Ski Shop, Rogue Valley Health & Wellness, Rogue Valley Mall, Southern Oregon Credit Services and Walmart in Eagle Point and both Medford locations.

Some local businesses have stepped up to help, according to posts on the Salvation Army Facebook page. Mercedes-Benz of Medford shared Thursday morning that with customers’ support, it contributed $1,500 worth of gifts for kids in the community.

And on Wednesday afternoon, the charity posted on social media that it was “floored” to share that Lippert’s Carpet One of Medford and its team had fulfilled all the gift wishes on its Angel Tree.

Plenty of tags are still available at the Rogue Valley Mall, 1600 N. Riverside Ave. and The Salvation Army and 922 N. Central Ave in Medford.
