Marian Chapman died peacefully on December 2, 2024 at age 90.

Marian was born September 2, 1934 and raised on a farm in Michigan. She attended MSU, joined Alpha Xi Delta, and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Education. At college, she met her husband of 56 years, Raymond Chapman. He predeceased her in 2015.

Marian taught primary grades in Michigan and Ohio where she earned a Certificate in Special Education.

Despite lifelong health struggles, Marian was constantly in motion. She created a beautiful life for herself and family. Her warmth won her enduring friendships. She kept up with long distance friends and relatives, especially during Valentines Day. She adored plants and flowers. She cherished any present given to her, sharing stories about the gift and the giver.

She fiercely loved her family, friends and pets and was deeply loved in return.

She is survived by daughters Kelly Von Ruden and Kathleen Chapman, son Timothy Chapman, niece Michelle Driscoll and spoiled cat, Petunia.

In June 2025, a quiet interment service will be held in Ohio.
