From the editor’s desk: Another million page views; Times stories you might have missed

Published 3:15 am Saturday, December 21, 2024

The Rogue Valley Times continues to engage with readers online, with another 1 million page views on our website and the RVT app since mid-October, bringing our total draw since we launched on Feb. 3, 2023, to more than 15 million views.

We’ve tallied 2.4 million active users since we began, and we’re averaging over 100 active users every minute during peak hours. The Times website was voted best in the state at the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association’s annual convention in July, and we’ve always made digital-first a big priority.

We also have a healthy engagement rate on social media, with more than 10,000 followers on Facebook.

These are big numbers for being a relative newcomer to the Rogue Valley, and we thank all of our readers — who hopefully are subscribers online or online and print — for helping us deliver important local journalism to the community.

In the week ahead, we will reflect on our relationship with local readers and especially our advertisers, offering our message about the importance of local reporting and the community that supports it.
