Lara Trump said she’s removing her name from consideration for a U.S. Senate seat that’s expected to open up in Florida, according to a post on her X account.
President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law had been eyeing the position as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis seeks a replacement for Marco Rubio in the Senate. Trump has nominated Rubio for secretary of State.
The president-elect said this week he didn’t expect DeSantis to appoint Lara Trump to the Senate.
