Age: Montana is a 7-year-old female Alaskan Husky mix.

Personality: Intelligent, calm, observant, peaceful and sweet.

Highlights: Montana is a very sweet and mellow 7-year-old in search of a calm, loving family to share her life with. Her different-colored eyes give her a striking look that accompanies her fluffy, tricolored coat, and this beautiful girl shows that she’s more than just looks in her abilities to sit, shake and lie down on command. Despite being a seasoned 7-year-old, her spirit is still young, and she’s still willing to learn a few new tricks long as plenty of treats are involved. Montana will do best with a family of knowledgeable dog owners who are aware of the Husky breed’s individual needs and will continue to provide her with daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her mind sharp and her body healthy. While her past interactions with cats are unknown, Montana looks forward to meeting any other dogs in the home prior to adoption to ensure compatibility.

Availability: Montana is available at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., Phoenix. The shelter is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Walk-ins welcomed. No appointment needed. See
