Art & Soul Ashland: The gallery features paintings in a variety of media and styles, pottery, photography and more by local and regional artists. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by local artists in myriad media such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. The gallery, at 213 E. Main St., Medford, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. Private viewings are available outside open business hours by reservation. Art on First: Featured throughout April will be nature inspired paintings by John Palombo. The gallery, located at 20 S. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, features work by member artists in a variety of media including oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and fabric. During the month of April, see new watercolor paintings by Featured Guest Artist Lane Hall. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features the work of local artists in a variety of media, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry and garden art. A group exhibition featuring the work of Amy Baumgart, Shari Southard and Connie Simonsen will be on display throughout April in the Main Gallery; the Community Gallery will feature mixed media landscape paintings by Haila Williams. Calligraphers’ Guild: The Calligraphers’ Guild of Southern Oregon will exhibit “April is Poetry Month” at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave., in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the guild. The display will be available for viewing through April 30 in the library’s first floor exhibit case near the rear entrance. Grants Pass Museum of Art: The museum, located upstairs at 229 S.W. Gypsy Road Studio: The two-story gallery, located at 369 E. Main Street, Ashland, offers a global experience of international and local artwork, vintage and artisan jewelry, rare global antiquities, home decor, collectibles and artisan pieces and a contemporary salon-style art gallery. Langford Art Gallery: Check out the group exhibition, “NEOTERIC,” on display through April 26, at the gallery, 4850 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix. The exhibit highlights multidisciplinary artists whose work pushes boundaries through innovative techniques and experimental narratives to introduce alternative visual and performative art experiences. Oak Leaf Studio: Located at 247 Oak St., Ashland, Oak Leaf Studio is the working and gallery space of local artist Leif Trygg, who works in a variety of media, including pastel, watercolor, acrylic and digital imaging. Phree Gallery 144: See work by local artists at the Phree Gallery, a small contemporary gallery space, located at the Phoodery, 208 N. Main St., Phoenix. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, featuring work by local artists, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art, 555 Indiana St., Ashland, will be closed through April 16. The museum displays a rotating slate of exhibitions focused on historical and contemporary perspectives of art and progressive work by local, nationally and internationally-recognized artists. ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum: During the month of April, check out vibrant collages and repurposed metal sculptures by Kailey Ousley in the exhibit, “Backyard Beauty: Native or Not?” The museum gallery, 1500 E. Talent Gallery: The new Talent Gallery, 111 Talent Ave., Talent, occupies the restored historic Malmgren Garage. Twenty member artists show a wide range of styles and mediums including painting, original prints, ceramics, photography and fossil sculptures. New works are added monthly. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays. At noon every Sunday, artists will give a talk about their art. The talk on April 13 will include a Q-and-A session with Dana Barrow, Julia Janeway and Meggan Baron. Receptions will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. the fourth Friday of every month.
