Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Oregon set for Saturday

The annual Southern Oregon Polar Plunge to raise funds for Special Olympics Oregon athletes will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Rogue Valley Country Club.
A Polar Plunge 5k run will begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the 5k opens at 8:30 a.m., and the Plunge registration starts at 9 a.m.. The Plunge festivities begin at 9:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Area law enforcement agencies are among those participating.
The country club is located at 2660 Hillcrest Road, Medford.
The Southern Oregon Polar Plunge is one of Special Olympics Oregon’s premier fundraising events that fuels athletes with disabilities, by providing support for all of their training, sports equipment, travel, and fitness goals — leading up to all-inclusive participation in regional, national, and international competitions for more than 12,000 participants statewide.
Pre-registration packet pick-up will be open from 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Lithia Headquarters, 150 N. Bartlett St., Medford.
